soft washing

Soft washing is something you may not have heard much about before. We at pristine clean and most other exterior cleaning professionals, use this process to gently and thoroughly clean all manner of outdoor surfaces. Pressure washing can be far too rough for some surfaces, roofs and rendered walls for example. In these cases, soft washing is perfect! Soft washing uses low pressure, chemical-based cleaning to transform a surface without the risk of damaging it.

Even when a surface is suited to high-pressure cleaning, like pressure washing, we often use soft washing alongside it. These two methods used together often provide the highest quality results.

The chemicals we use are carefully balanced, biodegradable and always applied safely. We are fully licensed, trained and insured to use these products, so we can assure you, you are in safe hands!

Soft washing is a gentle, low pressure and safe alternative to high-pressure cleaning. There are some outdoor surfaces that can be damaged by water used at high pressure. In this case, soft washing could be the perfect solution! It is a cleaning method using low pressure and specialised, biodegradable solutions to safely remove mildew, bacteria, algae and other organic stains from exterior surfaces.

Soft washing and pressure washing are two very different ways to clean exterior surfaces! Pressure washing uses powerful water pressure to dislodge dirt and grime. Soft Washing uses much lower pressure water and is combined with biodegradable cleaning chemicals to kill organic growth like mould, mildew, bacteria, algae, fungus, moss and more.

Softwashing your roof gives much longer lasting results and doesn’t damage your roof tiles as pressure washing can. We will never pressure wash a roof, as this method is not recommended by tile manufacturers. Instead of high water pressure, soft washing uses carefully balanced, biodegradable chemicals to kill all organic growth on your roof. This means that once your roof has been soft washed, new growth has to start completely from scratch, making the finish very long lasting.
